Knox County Home Improvement Contractor Charged with Theft

A contractor from Knox County has been arrested following an investigation by Indiana State Police.
The investigation began in March following a complaint from a Vincennes homeowner that a contractor had failed to make repairs after being paid over $19,000.
During the investigation, it was revealed the victim had signed a home improvement agreement with Superior Home Improvements that is owned and operated by 48-year-old Jesse Pace of Bicknell.
The victim reportedly gave Pace $10,000 in December of 2021 to start the home improvement projects.
The victim stated Pace had started to make some repairs two days later but hadn’t been back since December.
In January of 2022, the victim gave Pace over $9,000 for additional material for the projects.
The victim then contacted Indiana State Police after Pace failed to make the repairs.
A warrant was issued for Pace’s arrest, and he was taken into custody at his home yesterday morning.
Pace was transported to the Knox County Jail where he later posted bond and was released.
He faces one charge of theft.
