The Vincennes Events & Planning Committee looked at the current food truck ordinance at a meeting last night.
There were local restaurant owners and food truck operators on hand to discuss the issues.
The current ordinance states that food trucks must park 50 feet away from businesses that sell food, but restaurant owners think that’s not enough.
There was talk about extending that to a block, but food truck operators say there is a restaurant on almost every block in town.
Officials also discussed charging more for food trucks that are not local.
Councilman Brian Groves noted that increasing the fees may stop food trucks from coming to the area.
No changes were made to the ordinance last night, but discussions are ongoing.
