Jasper Man Charged with Reckless & Aggressive Driving

A Jasper man was arrested over the weekend after a pursuit in Pike County.
On Friday just after 5:00 pm, an Indiana State Police Trooper was outside his patrol car at a residence near Jasper when he observed a sport bike pass the residence at a high rate of speed.
The trooper then perused the rider and attempted to stop the motorcycle.
The officer says the rider then immediately accelerated and continued west on CR 300 North into Pike County.
Due to the high speed and danger to other motorists, the pursuit was terminated.
Moments later, a motorist who observed the motorcycle stopped the trooper and identified the rider as 20-year-old Sterling Kiefer of Jasper.
Troopers then located Kiefer and his motorcycle at his residence where he was arrested without further incident.
Further investigation revealed the motorcycle was not registered and Kiefer did not have a motorcycle endorsement.
Kiefer was taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
He is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement and Aggressive Driving.
