Good Samaritan Hosting Parkinson’s Awareness Day Event

Good Samaritan is inviting the community to a day of education and exercise for Parkinson’s disease this Saturday, April 30th.
During this event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Parkinson’s, the importance of BIG exercise and therapy, and receive encouragement for patients and families living with Parkinson’s.
Joy Uy, Physical Therapist at Good Samaritan, wanted to organize this event for the community as there is currently no support group in Knox County for Parkinson’s.
Nearly one million people in the United States are currently living with Parkinson’s disease and approximately 60,000 Americans are newly diagnosed each year.
The number of Parkinson’s patients continues to grow in Knox County each year as well.
The Parkinson’s Awareness Day will take place this Saturday at First Baptist Church in Vincennes at 10:00 am.
Individuals who have questions about the event, or who would like more information, can call the Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Center at (812)-885-3601.
