The Washington Baseball Team could only muster three hits last night as they fell to 6 and 10 against a good Forest Park team 10-1 at the Sports Complex. The Rangers go to 9 and 3 on the season. The Hatchets travel to Princeton on Tuesday.

Evansville Harrison topped Vincennes Lincoln 14-1. Today, North Daviess will host Vincennes.
Washington Softball fell on the road at South Knox yesterday 14-2. The Lady Hatchets will host NE Dubois on Monday.
Barr Reeve Softball shut out Princeton 15-0. The Lady Vikings take on Shoals on the road today.
North Daviess beat Shakamak 16-8. The Lady Cougars are at home against Linton today.
North Daviess girls tennis lost to South Knox 5-0.
Vincennes Lincoln had a narrow 3-2 edge over Princeton.
Hatchet girls tennis is on the road tonight at Tell City.
After 25 years and a career record of 471 wins, Vincennes Rivet Girls Basketball Coach Rick Marshall has announced he is stepping down. Marshall made the announcement yesterday. Marshall has led the Patriots for the past five years, after a break from coaching at North Knox for 20 seasons. The search is now on for his replacement.
Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton was drafted 14th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night. The 6-foot-4 Hamilton was a consensus All-American for the Fighting Irish last season despite playing in just seven games. Georgia defensive end Travon Walker went number one overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Detroit Lions selected Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson with the second pick.
Purdue defensive end George Karlaftis was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. He was a third-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten pick in 2021 after recording 4.5 sacks for the Boilermakers. Karlaftis originally hails from Greece, and graduated from West Lafayette High School. He became the first Purdue player to be drafted in the first round since defensive end Ryan Kerrigan went 16th overall to Washington in 2011.
The NFL Draft continues Friday night with the second and third rounds, and the Indianapolis Colts currently have a pair of picks. Indy holds the 42nd overall selection in the second round, as well as pick number 73 in the third round. Former Colts left tackle Anthony Castonzo will announce the team’s second round pick from Las Vegas.
The Chicago Cubs fell to the Atlanta Braves 5-1 Thursday night. Atlanta led 2-1 in the eighth inning, and added three runs on a Travis d’Arnaud double, followed by a 2-run home run from Adam Duvall. Kyle Wright struck out eight Cubs over seven three-hit innings. The San Diego Padres beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-5 to complete a three-game sweep. Ha-Seong Kim hit a bases-clearing, tiebreaking double as part of a four-run sixth inning. The Reds are a Major League-worst 3-16. Paul Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 and batted in three runs, and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-3 at Busch Stadium.
