Walk With a Doc will be returning to Gregg Park beginning this Saturday, May 7, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
The community is invited to join and spend a few minutes learning about a current health topic.
Attendees will spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk at their own pace and distance.
Walk With a Doc is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle.
According to the American Heart Association, walking as little as 30 minutes a day can improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels, help maintain a healthy body weight and lower the risk of obesity, enhance mental well-being, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
This is a free program and pre-registration is not required.
Future walks will be announced on Good Samaritan’s Facebook page and the Walk with a Doc website at www.walkwithadoc.org.
