Today is National Nurses Day which kicks off the week long recognition of nurses.
The event is celebrated between May 6th and May 12th in honor of the birthdate of Florence Nightingale.
This week of recognition gives everyone the opportunity to thank nurses for their dedication to patient care.
Locally, Good Samaritan has been celebrating Nurses Week this week.
Throughout this Nurses Week, Good Samaritan has been showing their appreciation with free breakfast, gifts, fun activities, and a special awards ceremony for those who have went above and beyond in nursing this past year.
All are invited to take some time to thank a nurse today on this National Nurses Day.
