Tecumseh and NE Dubois will try again tonight for the 1A Softball Sectional championship after a rain out yesterday at NE Dubois. First pitch is at 6:30 pm. The winner will play Barr Reeve in the regional on Tuesday. 
The 3A Softball Sectional championship at Washington was also rained out last night. Gibson Southern and Pike Central will now play at 1:00 pm tomorrow at the Sports Complex for the title.
Kaden Buse of Barr Reeve finished fifth in the 400 meter dash.
Keenan Clegg of Vincennes was 6th in the 800 meter run

Braden Howard was 5th in pole vault for Pike Central.

Floyd Central, Gibson Southern, and Evansville Harrison were the top 3 team finishers at the Track and Field Regionals in Evansville last night.  

The Greatest Spectacle in racing, the Indianapolis 500, will run this Sunday.  Live flag to flag coverage starts at 11:00 am this Sunday morning on Memories 107.9 fm. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is preparing to host Carb Day this afternoon. Weather is expected to play a factor in scheduling, and possible changes to the event. Today is the final day of practice for the field of 33, and is currently slated for 11a-1p. However, Doug Boles would not rule out the cancellation of events such as the Pit Stop Competition if weather were to threaten in the area. Concerts scheduled for the Snake Pit are not going to be changed according to Boles. The 106th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to run on Sunday afternoon.
The Indiana Hoosiers opened the Big Ten Baseball Tournament Thursday with an extra inning loss to top-seeded Maryland. IU trailed 4-0 early on, but were able to claw its way back to tie it at 4. Reese Sharp delivered with 5.1 innings out of the bullpen of 1 run baseball, while striking out 9. Both teams added a run in the 10th, but the Hoosiers failed to convert a 2-on and no out situation in the 11th. Maryland walked off the game on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Jack Perkins (3-3) was charged with the loss for the Hoosiers. The Hoosiers fall into the losers’ bracket tomorrow when they will play at 6p eastern.
The Cincinnati Reds dominated the series finale against the Cubs, 20-5. Eight starters tallied a hit for Cincinnati on Thursday. Nick Senzel lead the way with a perfect 4-4 day, while Kyle Farmer had a multi-homerun game including 5 RBIs. Justin Steele took the loss for Chicago going two innings and surrendering 7 earned runs. Hunter Greene picked up his second win of the season tallying 5 innings of 5 run baseball. The Reds remain at home to host San Francisco and the Cubs have an off day today.
