Several individuals in Dubois County celebrated Memorial Day with an annual fitness challenge.
WFIE reports members of the Southern Indiana Complete Fitness center in Dubois County decided to honor heroes for Memorial Day by doing “The Murph.”
The Murph is a workout competition, consisting of two miles of running and 500 total reps of push-ups, pull-ups, and air squats.
The challenge was named after LT. Michael P. Murphy.
LT. Murphy was a Navy Seal who was awarded the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the War in Afghanistan.
He was the first member of the United States Navy to receive the award since the Vietnam War.
