Detroit Grand Prix weekend kicks off on Friday from the Raceway at Belle Isle Park. Indy 500 winner Marcus Ericsson will follow up his victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the track where he captured his first IndyCar victory in 2021. Ericsson’s win at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing captures the consistency of the former F1 driver over the last calendar year. Since last year’s Grand Prix in Detroit, no driver has scored more points than the Swede. For the first time since 2012, the weekend will have just one, 70-lap race instead of the two races its had for almost a decade. Practice for Sunday’s race begins this afternoon with qualifications set for early Saturday afternoon.
