Patricia Atkinson

Patricia Louise (Mason) Atkinson 94, of Washington, went to her heavenly home on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Patricia was born on June 2, 1928 in Bicknell, IN to the late James Earl Mason and Bernice Ruth (Egbert) Mason.
Patricia worked in the jewelry department at Gimble bond and was a Census Taker. The most important job of all however, was her job as a homemaker; Patricia loved her family and was a devoted family woman. She enjoyed; crossword puzzles, gardening both vegetables and flowers, being seamstress, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her family. It should be mentioned she was a spelling genius! Patricia attended the Clover Hill Assembly of God Church in Midlothian, VA.
Patricia is survived by; her children, Jill Ann Atkinson Hughes of Midlothian, VA, Grant Atkinson (Janet) of Palm Coast, FL; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Rita Rish of Bicknell, IN, and Dr. James Mason (Mary Dee) of Bicknell, IN.
Patricia was preceded in death by; her husband, who she married on November 24, 1946, Dean Michael Atkinson; a son, Dean Gregory Atkinson; siblings, Jack Mason, and Vicki Mason Moreland; and a son-in-law, G. Edwards Hughes.
Patricia led a full life, doing a lot of traveling and moving. She and her husband Dean who worked for the Dept of defense and retired as a Colonel in the Army reserves lived in many places including Georgia, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Germany, California, and Virginia.
To honor Patricia’s wishes, services will be private and she will be laid to rest in the Edwardsport I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The family welcomes online condolences to be left at www.fredrickandson.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Word of Life Church, 7144 Russell Dr. Bicknell, IN 47512.
