WCS Assistant Superintendent Steve Peterson has released a statement following the death of a 17-year-old student.
WHS student Eli Newberry was killed during a single vehicle crash Sunday night on highway 50 in Washington.
Peterson says Washington High School Gates 4 & 5 will be open today from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for any students who wish to speak to a counselor.
Students may also have access to Eli’s locker if they wish to leave messages of support and condolences.
Peterson said these are trying times for students, staff, and the community and that hearts are heavy as we yet again mourn the sudden passing of a young life.
