More details have been released about a Washington man arrested in Vincennes.
Late Wednesday night, authorities received several 911 calls reporting a wrong-way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes on US 41 near Elkhorn Road. Moments later, concerned motorists reported the vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lanes on US 50.
A State Trooper and a Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived in the area and observed the wrong-way vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers say the vehicle was stopped but then slowly began to back up.
The trooper then approached the vehicle and was able to reach through the open window and put the vehicle in park.
The driver was identified as 30-year-old Alexander Morales Rosa of Washington. Rosa displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests.
Further investigation revealed he had a blood alcohol content of .21% and that he didn’t possess a valid driver’s license.
Rosa was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail where he is currently being held on bond. He is charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Operating a Vehicle Without Ever Obtaining a Valid Driver’s License.
