Some kids in Evansville schools are on their own to get to school this year.
The city’s school corporation last week started sending parents letters explaining that their children have been put on school bus wait lists.
School spokesman Jason Woebkenberg says there simply aren’t enough bus drivers to get every kid to school this year.
Parents are now scrambling to figure out how to get their kids to school.
In addition, the city’s school corporation ha sent letters home to parents informing them that the free-lunch-for-all program that was started during the coronavirus pandemic is ending.
The announcement means some families will have to pay for meals at school once again.
