At 12: 06 Wednesday Jasper Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 231 and SR 162.
One of the driver’s involved in the collision immediately fled the scene.
Upon Jasper Police responding to the area, they found one of the drivers had fled both vehicles involved in the collision were totaled.
The driver was later identified as 31-year-old Taryn Ballard and was apprehended shortly after the search began.
Ballard was taken into custody and charged with the leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, driving while suspended, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility, and operating a vehicle with false and fictitious license plate.
