Robert “Bob” Giltner York, 81, passed away peacefully August 3, 2022 in Gonzales, La. Bob was born on August 9, 1940 in Vincennes, Indiana and was the son of Giltner H. and Mary Jane (McClary) York. He was married for 46 years to his adoring wife Mrs. Feona Janelle (Martin) York.
Bob was a graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tn. Bob proudly served in the United States Air-Force and retired honorably in 1966. He had worked as an Industrial Warehouse Manager and Industrial Plant Electrician retiring in 2006. Bob enjoyed being part of the American Legion (Ascension Parish 81), doing martial arts where he excelled and was a Hapkido Champion. He also had fun playing golf, mastering archery, and firearms.
Survivors include his wife, Feona; daughters, Gina E. York of Gonzales, La, Gerri Ann Street and partner Cale Savoy) of St. Amant, La., Lynn Carnahan and husband Bob of Vincennes, In., and Lora Street of Prairieville, La.; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Preceding Bob in death are his parents Giltner and Mary York; sister Pamela J. Helderman; and brother Gerald York.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, 919 Willow Street, Vincennes, Indiana, 47591. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Robert and his family.
