Vincennes University/Vincennes Campus
At approximately 3:25am on August 17, 2022, officers responded to 1338 N. 3rd Street, Apartment 2, in regards to a report of four unknown individuals forcibly entering the apartment, and one reportedly brandishing a firearm while asking about money. The suspects had vacated the area prior to the officers’ arrival. Minor injuries occurred during the incident and were treated on the scene.
It is believed that this incident is isolated. However, we encourage all of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious behavior or activity to Campus Police.
The group of unknown suspects reportedly consisted of two males and two females. The suspect with the firearm was described as a black male, approximately 5’9″, with short black hair and a medium build. Another suspect was described as a black female, approximately 5’6″, and weighing approximately 160 lbs. A third suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6’, and having dreads. A fourth suspect was described as a black female with no other identifiers. The subjects were last seen fleeing the area towards the south on 3rd Street. All four subjects are believed to be from the Evansville, Indiana area.
