The Washington Hatchet Football team travelled to Logansport on Saturday and fell to 4A Logansport 54-0. The Hatchet offense struggled on the day, only mustering up 92 yards of total offense while allowing 349 yards to The Berries. Washington drops to 0-2 and will play at Gibson Southern on Friday night.

The Hatchet Boys Soccer lost to Floyd Central, 4-1. On Saturday, David Dubon scored the  lone goal for Washington. JV tied 3-3.

The Lady Vikings golf team won their first ever invitational title today at Stone Crest Golf Club in the 8-team Eastern Green/Mitchell Invite on Saturday! A total team effort resulted in a school record 344. Olivia Emmons medaled in the event, while Braylee Knepp finished second and Brynna Knepp finished fourth. Barr Reeve is now 36 and 13 on the season and in action tonight at Country Oaks.

The Loogootee volleyball team was on the road to Vincennes Lincoln for the McDonald’s Volleyball Tournament. The Lions finished 2-1 on the day with 2-0 wins over Pike Central and South Knox. Bloomington North was defeated 2-0.

WC girls’ soccer played their blue-chip conference rival South Knox on Saturday evening on the Spartans’ home field and came away with a 2-1 victory. Mya Cline scored with less than 1 minute left in the 1st half to tie the game at 1-1. Ella Grissom scored on a penalty kick midway through the second to secure the win. Up next for the WC girls is Bloomfield at Bloomfield, Tuesday at 6:45.

The Washington Catholic Boys played South Knox to a 2-all tie on Saturday.

The BRMS soccer teams hosted Gibson Southern on Saturday. The boys’ JV team started the day off with a 2-0 victory and remains undefeated on the season. The boys’ middle school varsity team was defeated 8-2

Rory McIlroy came roaring back from six shots down to win at East Lake in Atlanta and capture the PGA FedEx Cup title for a record third time. On Thursday, Rory’s first tee shot wasn’t out of bounds and he started with a triple bogey, but on Sunday he fired a blistering 66 to capture the title over Scottie Sheffler.

In Baseball on Sunday the Cincinnati Reds, as heard on the General lost to the Nationals 3 to 2 while the chicago Cubs lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 9 to 7
