The WJHS 8th grade boys (1-0) opened the season at home with a victory over Heritage Hills 40-37. Aiden Boyd led the Hatchets with 24 points.
In the B team game the Hatchets took the win 39-33. Jaxson Voyles led the scoring with 20 points followed by Cole Burton with 15 and Drew Jones 4.The WJHS 7th grade boys improved to 3-1 on the season with a 32-25 road win at Heritage Hills. Kayden Gross paced the Hatchets with 20 points.
The Hatchets also won the B team contest 27-20. Leader in scoring for the Hatchets was Jake Johnson 6, The 7th and 8th grade Hatchets play at 6:00 PM on Wednesday night at home vs Sullivan,
The Loogootee Lady Lions lose to Mitchell 54-41 at Jack Butcher Arena last night. The Lady Lions jumped out to an 8-0 lead and lost the lead for the first time with seconds to go in the first half and trailed 23-21 at the break. The second half surge didn’t happen as the final two quarters was all Mitchell ending in the loss. Junior Emily Hawkins led in scoring for Loogootee, Senior Mallorie Sutton had 9 and Sophomore GMadison Waggner had 7 points and 7 Rebounds. Next up for the Lady Lions is a trip to Shoals with an airtime of 5:45 because of no JV game on Razor Radio Sports with the golden voices of Greg Bateman and Mike Wagner bringing you all the action.
The Barr Reeve Lady Vikings made the trip to Linton to take on the Lady Miners and it was all Linton in this one 48-31. The Lady Miners hit their first 3 shots of the game behind the arc and never looked back. Barr Reeve at one point cut it to 7 late in the second quarter but Linton took control in the second half despite a strong double double by Lady Viking Sophomore Hannah Bledsoe with 19 points and 13 rebounds. The BR Jr. High 8th grade girls got their first win of the year on Monday night knocking off Paoli 31-13. Cadence Burch led the way with 15 pts, 14 rebs and 7 steals.
