An Evansville woman was detained after allegedly ramming a man with her car on Sunday.
According to the Evansville Police Department, police were dispatched to the vicinity of North 9th Avenue and West Michigan Street at 12:30 p.m. Sunday after a man dialed 911 and reported being hit by a car.
When police came, they discovered the victim on the ground. They claim the victim informed them that 31-year-old Alexandrea Johnson followed him and struck him with her car after a dispute. Investigators learned that Johnson had also damaged a fence and a sign on Franklin Street before departing the area.
Police say Johnson was discovered and arrested after the victim was rushed to the hospital for various injuries. Johnson was placed into the Vanderburgh County Jail on accusations of assault with a dangerous weapon and fleeing the scene of an accident.
