Robert W. “Bob” Davis

Robert W. “Bob” Davis, 78, of Washington, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022.
Bob was born June 16, 1944, in Washington, to the late Gladys Purdue Davis and Robert L. Davis.
Bob was a Navy signalman on the admiral’s staff who graduated from Washington High School in 1962 and then from V.U. in 1974. He started the plastic molding department for Suttle Apparatus, a division of CSI, until he became the VP of sales of Tel Products, also a division of CSI until his retirement. During Bob’s employment with CSI, he co-invented a multi-line telephone adapter. After retirement Bob became the owner and operator of Bobby D. Trucking.
Bob was a lover of music who played bass for many years in Wildwood. He enjoyed flower landscaping, hot rods, playing golf, woodworking, playing bingo, cards, and was very competitive. Bob also found a lot of comfort in studying his Bible and attended the Montgomery Christian Church. Above all else, Bob was extremely proud of his four daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Kay of 58 years; four beautiful daughters, Tracy White (Alan) of Washington, Shannon Winters (John) of Flora, Illinois, Tiffany Davis (Dustin) of Loogootee, and Misty Decker (Paul) of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Erica Edwards (Doug), Nicholas Painter, Allie Winters, Elijah and Ella Decker, and Judah, Tidus and Elias Davis; three great-grandchildren, Trinidy and Reese Reel, and Kai Hall; and two stepgrandchildren, Wesley and Ashlyn Edwards; siblings Marilyn Gregory, Danny O’Bryan (Susan), Alan Mattingly (Bonita), Steve Mattingly (Karen); brother-in-law George Strange; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepdad William “Bud” Mattingly; sisters, LeAnna Strange and Janet Mattingly (Ira).
There will be a visitation Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a service immediately following, all at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington, IN 47501. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites will be held.
