Dennis Ray McClure, 75, passed away at 5:47 pm on December 23, 2022, at Daviess Community Hospital. Denny was born on October 4, 1947, in Terre Haute, IN and is the son of Estell Ray and Joan (Furrer) McClure. He married Nada Diane Burress on October 5, 1968, and she survives.
Denny is a graduate of Odon High School and attended Olivet Nazarene College. He is also a graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science. Denny was a licensed funeral director for forty-seven years. He worked for Poindexter Funeral Homes- Macer Hall Funeral Home and owned and operated Poindexter-Hall-McClure Funeral Homes for several years before his retirement. Denny is a member of the Washington Free Methodist Church and a past member of the Optimist Club, the Kiwanis Club and the Odon Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife Nada “Diane” McClure of Washington, IN; son, Stacy McClure and his wife Stephanie Elaine of Washington, IN; granddaughters, Madelyn Elaine McClure, Molly Andrea Diane McClure; sisters, Vivian Breeden and her husband Darrell, Kathy Malone and her husband Jim Ray; brother, Mark McClure and his wife Melissa; as well as several nieces and nephews. Denny is preceded in death by his parents Estell and Joan McClure, and his daughter, Tammra DyAnn McClure Arvin.
Friends may visit with Denny’s family from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Washington Free Methodist Church, 1155 Troy Road, Washington, IN 47501. Denny’s funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 2:00 pm with Pastor Adam Condor officiating. Denny will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, IN.
