Kathryn A. Cole, 93, passed away at 1:20 pm on January 5, 2023 at the Lodge of the Wabash Nursing Facility. Kathryn was born on May 9, 1929 in Knox County, IN and she is the daughter of Edward and Emma (Pepmeier) Meyer. She married James Cole on January 25, 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2018.
Kathryn was a 1947 graduate of Decker High School and a 1950 graduate of the Evansville Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and a affiliate of Community Presbyterian Church in Englewood, FL. Kathryn was very active in her church where she taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed playing the piano.
Survivors include her children, Ann Blemker and her husband David of Greenwood, IN, Jay Cole and his wife Karen of Vincennes, IN, Tim Cole and his wife Lori of Yadkinville, NC; her grandchildren, Katie Blemker and her husband Payton Norris, Mary Marte and her husband Adam, Andrea Williams and her husband Nate, Jennifer Cole, Stephen Cole, Elizabeth Cole; and her great grandchildren, Owen and Oliver Williams. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Emma Meyer, her husband James Cole, and her brothers, Victor, Paul, and Ervin Meyer.
Friends may visit with Kathryn’s family from noon until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Kathryn’s funeral service will begin immediately following visitation at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Frische-Mouri officiating.
