William “Bill” D. McKinney, 72, of Otwell, passed away January 9, 2023 in Petersburg, IN. He was born March 21, 1950 to William Russell and Lillie May (Miller) McKinney in Vincennes, IN. Bill graduated from Spurgeon High School and went on to join the United States Navy. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Indianapolis Power and Light and Solar Sources Coal Mine.
Bill is survived by his sons, Jason “JK” (Holly) McKinney and Chris (Jamie) McKinney; grandchildren, Emma McKinney, Celena Pretorius, Destinee McKinney, Chaney McKinney, and Cobey McKinney; great grandchild, Dexter Conrad; and sister, Sheila Julian. He is preceded in death by his son in 1985, BJ McKinney and his parents.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life scheduled at a later date. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
