Catching up on more weekend basketball action:
Both boys 7th and 8th grade WJHS boys basketball teams traveled to Tell City Saturday morning for a round robin with PAC members North Posey and Tell City. In the opening 7th grade game the Hatchets improved to 17-3 with a 44-36 win over host Tell City. Kayden Gross had 18 points and 12 rebounds.
In the 2nd 7th grade game, the Hatchets (18-3) took down North Posey 42-34. Carter Browning had 17 points
The 8th grade WJHS boys (11-6) opened the day with a 42-16 win over Tell City. Aiden Boyd had 14 points to led the Hatchets scoring.
In the 2nd 8th grade game the Hatchets go to 12-6 with a 61-37 win over North Posey. Once again the Hatchets placed 3 guys in double figures led by Levi Burkemper with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Brody Armes had 14 points and 3 rebounds and Aiden Boyd had 13 points and 12 assists.
Both teams return to action tonight as they host Barr Reeve in the Hatchet House at 6:00PM.
Washington Jr High Girls hosted Tell City and North Posey Saturday morning 7th grade girls went 2-0, beating Tell City 31-10 in the first game, and Winning the 2nd game vs North Posey 31-23. 7th grade girls record 10-7
The Washington 8th Lady Hatchets won both games as well Saturday morning. They had a great week beating Barr-Reeve, Jasper, South Knox, Tell City and North Posey in one week. 8th grade girls Record 15-2
 
Washington Hatchet varsity wrestling are in preparation for this Saturday’s PAC Conference Championships at Mt Vernon more information later in the week but if you can’t make it you can watch the action on www.trackwrestling.com

The San Antonio Spurs might be 13-30, but they’ve got the entire NBA beat in one area of the record book.With a crowd of 68,323 fans, the Spurs broke the NBA single-game attendance record on Friday against the Golden State Warriors. The increased attendance came thanks to a special game played at the team’s former home at the Alamodome as part of a celebration of its 50th anniversary.
Indiana Womens basketball remains 6th ranked in the latest AP Top 25 Women’s College Basketball Poll. South Carolina is still #1 and garnered all the first place votes. Of note, the Baylor is unranked for the first time in 19 years
In the new Men’s poll Houston remains the #1 team followed by Kansas at 2 and the Purdue Boilermakers stay at #3.
