A popular Basketball Sectional Week tradition will be on hiatus for one year due to the remodeling project at the Daviess County Museum. The Museum’s popular “Basketball Memories Roundtable” event will be taking this year off due to the ongoing construction project on the museum’s first floor. The Roundtable is an annual event where Daviess County high school basketball stars of the past recall the Washington Sectional and other notable games, teams, and players. The museum directors say they have not forgotten about the program, but unfortunately, with the work currently ongoing to complete our renovation projects, we did not feel that our building or volunteers were in the right position to give it a worthy installment this year. The museum currently expects the roundtable to return in 2024. Construction of the museum’s new east wing is expected to be completed this spring. The annual meeting of the Daviess County Historical Society will be held on March 6th at 5:30 p.m. at the museum for all current members. Updates on the progress will be presented, and feedback will be appreciated.
