A fire was reported near the roadway in a ditch on I-69 at MM 70.5 near Plainville.
The reports of this fire started to come in at 10 a.m. yesterday morning, and the second caller claimed the flames were approximately 5 feet in the air and heading east towards a field.
Backup was requested, and by 10:36 am, the fire was under control and requests for extra units had been cancelled.
No lane closures were necessary, and first responders had the scene cleared in under an hour.
