Carolyn E. (Jones) Sorrells, 78, of Shoals, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Born July 17, 1944, in Washington, Indiana, she was the daughter of Walter and Marie (Hoffman) Jones.
She married Marion Edward “Eddie” Sorrells on June 22, 1963 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2020.
Carolyn graduated from Shoals High School Class of 1962. She worked at the Martin County Bank and Shoals Package Store. Carolyn loved her family pictures, cooking, gardening, coffee, spending time with her family, attending anything Jug Rox Sports, and her church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Loogootee, where she was a lifelong member.
Surviving are her children, Tim Sorrells and wife Cindy, and Tom Sorrells and wife Deanna, all of Shoals; daughter-in-law, Melisa Sorrells, of Shoals; grandchildren, Seth Sorrells and wife Emily, Shelby Sorrells and husband Jeremy, Jordan Sorrells, Tanner Sorrells, Alex Doane, Kenyon Sorrells, and Abigail Sorrells; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Hazel Rae, Gunner, Wyatt, and Grayson; and very special niece, Deanne Cooper and husband Tim.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Sorrells; and one sister, Nadine Thimling.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2022 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Mike Newland officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home on Saturday.
Pallbearers are Seth Sorrells, Jordan Sorrells, Tanner Sorrells, Kenyon Sorrells, Alex Doane, and Jeremy Blaker.
