Francis Lee Balthus 73, of Vincennes, went to his heavenly home on February 18, 2023.
Francis was born on November 2, 1949 in Vincennes to the late Margaret “Peggy” Walters Balthus and William Balthus.
Francis was a retired truck driver and was a very proud veteran who served in the Vietnam War, a member of the Vincennes V.F.W. 1157 and the American Legion 73, 40&8 and the All Weather Firing squad. He enjoyed; sports, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, watching westerns, and following Neven Ashley’s baseball career. Those left to mourn the loss of Francis are; his loving wife, Josephine “Jo” Balthus; children, Scott Balthus (Natalie Thomas) of Newburgh, Heath Balthus of Evansville; grandchildren, Annistyn Balthus, Waylon Balthus, and Avalyn Balthus; siblings, Bill Balthus (Casey) of Vincennes, Bonnie Balthus of Evansville, Jean Welton of Vincennes, Connie Young (Louie) of Vincennes, John Balthus (Bev) of Kuttawa, KY, Kathy Balthus of Vincennes, and Georgetta Gaines (Jim) of Vincennes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Chad Balthus, sister, Donna Mathews and a brother-in-law Mike Welton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a service on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at noon also at the funeral home and visitation from 10:00 until the time of service.
