CenterPoint Energy is upgrading its natural gas pipelines in Indiana by replacing old ones made of steel and cast iron with industry-grade plastic pipes. This will improve the safety of the natural gas system and reduce emissions. They will be working on 32 communities in Indiana in 2023, investing over $76 million, and retiring 115 miles of pipeline. The workers will replace the mains first and then the service lines to homes and businesses. They will also restore any affected sidewalks, yards, and streets as soon as possible, depending on the weather.
