Dorothy Jean Wilcher

Dorothy Jean Wilcher, 87, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home.
She was born May 2, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Troy and Betty (Blizzard) Sexson.
Dorothy married Cleo Wilcher on February 25, 1955 and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2015.
Dorothy was a licensed realtor and a member of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors. Dorothy and Cleo built and owned Loogootee-Jasper Livestock Center. She was a partner in Rosie’s T-Shirts and Gifts and was a bookkeeper for many family businesses. She enjoyed genealogy and was the best Nintendo player. Dorothy was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed feeding the birds. She especially loved cardinals and peacocks. She raised peacocks for several years and even had a cardinal themed Christmas tree.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Wilcher; parents, Troy and Betty Sexson; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Swengel and Carol Lambert; brother, Richard W. Sexson; son-in-law, David Sutherland.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Larry (Cindy) Wilcher of Montgomery, Denise Sutherland of New Palestine, Darlene (Mike) Bradley of New Palestine, and Rosie (Doug) Bridges of Loogootee; grandchildren, Todd (Stacy) Wilcher, Kyle (Ivy) Wilcher, Darren (Sarah) Wilcher, Cleo Sutherland, Jennifer (Yan) Sherman, Dwayne (Kristi) Sutherland, Doug (Miranda) Sutherland, Dorothy (Jim) Webb, Levi (Sherry) Bradley, Leah (Zach) Herron, Laura (Craig) Turner, and Chassidy (Tye) Collins; great-grandchildren, Dakota (Lindsey) Wilcher and Keegan Wilcher, Garath, Margaret and Adelaide Webb, Lilly Maxwell, Scott, Lexi and Landon Bradley, Aubree and Chloe Herron, Will and Mason Sutherland, Nash, Parker, River and Navy Sutherland, Jase Wilcher, Liam and Ava Williams, Raelynn and Maverick Turner, Mia Wilcher, and Kennedy Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Condolences may be made online at www.blakefuneralhomes.com.
