Kathy Jo Cummins, 71 passed away at 5:43 pm on May 8, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital surrounded by her family. Kathy was born on September 15, 1951 in Vincennes and she is the daughter of Joseph Jr. and Mary Louise (Unsworth) Cummins.
Kathy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Washington where she was actively involved in the Women’s Group. She had been a cook for several years working at the White Kitchen, Aunt Helen’s and Willow Manor. Kathy loved watching cooking shows and playing games on her tablet. She also volunteered with Helping Hands and helped her mother with her day care.
Survivors include her sister’s Sandy Blain and her husband Vernon of Wheatland, Janet Barrix and her husband Dale of Vincennes; brother, Ron Cummins of Vincennes; brother-in-law, Willard McGavic; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nieces. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Louise Cummins, sister, Connie McGavic, nephews, Tony Barrix and David McGavic and her great niece Kassidy Hunter.
Friends may visit with Kathy’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Goodwin-Sievers with Pastor Cheryl Thorne officiating. Kathy will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online memories may be shared with Kathy’s family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
