Temporary road closures will be in place on Tuesday afternoon, May 23, to accommodate a group of several hundred motorcyclists. The closures will affect portions of US 41 near Warrenton Road and eastbound I-64 at US 41 in Gibson County as the motorcyclists make a stop at the Flying J Travel Center located at US 41 and Warrenton Road. The motorcyclists are traveling from California to Washington, D.C., with the aim of visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Having departed California on May 17, their scheduled arrival in Washington, D.C., is set for May 27. Before continuing their journey east on I-64 to Corydon, the group will briefly pause at the Flying J Travel Center for refueling and rest. Arrival is estimated around 2:15 p.m., with departure expected around 3:00 p.m. To show support, it is advised to find a safe location off the roadway, as parking along I-64 is strictly prohibited.
