In the early hours of June 11, the Washington Police Department’s 3rd shift officers responded to a residence on Dewey Ave. following reports of an altercation. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the caller had been struck in the head with a handgun, and a round had been discharged during the incident. The detective sought and obtained a search warrant for a residence on Maple St. Around 6:25 AM, the warrant was executed by the WPD’s Emergency Response Team in collaboration with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Strategic Response Unit. This operation led to the arrest of three individuals: Santos Momplaisir (29), Harry Joseph (33), and Ben Monesil (33). They face charges of battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, and residential entry. Notably, this incident marks the sixth shooting case investigated by the WPD within the past year, with charges filed in all previous instances.
