Thomas Lee Williams II, 63, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31, 2023. Thomas was born on November 12, 1959 in Columbus, Indiana and was the son of Thomas and Carolyn (Burke) Williams. He married the love of his life, Gloria (Allen) on November 29, 1980.
Thomas graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978 and went on to get his law enforcement degree from Vincennes University. He had a deep passion for firefighting and followed his heart and became a volunteer firefighter with the Vincennes Township Fire Department. He then became a career firefighter ultimately earning the title as Captain.He also enjoyed teaching fire safety to the youth of the city during fire safety week. Outside of his career he loved spending time with his family, fish, hunt, play pranks on his coworkers, and talk to people.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Gloria Williams of Vincennes; sons, Brandon Williams (Andrea) of Evansville and Derek Williams (Mindy) of Vincennes; sisters, Debbie Baxter of Evansville, Denise (Dennis) of Evansville, Dawn Williams of Evansville, Darla Szink (John) of Vincennes, and Doreen Beckes (Hap) of Sullivan; nieces and nephews, Joey Baxter, Jill Smith, Dion Smith, Jeffery Stanley, Timothy Stanley, Jennifer Stanley, and Justin Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Carolyn Williams.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Turning Point Four Square Church, 2116 Old State Highway 67, Vincennes, Indiana, 47591. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 10:00 am at the church with Pastor Mike Lakes officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park.
