Perry County – On September 27, Indiana State Police Jasper Detective Patrick Stinson launched a criminal inquiry following information concerning alleged rape and sexual battery involving a mentally challenged 23-year-old female. The investigation unveiled disturbing details, alleging that Austin Lehmkuler, 26, from Ferdinand, had taken the mentally challenged female to a wooded area, where he was accused of committing sexual offenses against her. These alleged incidents occurred within Perry County. After a thorough review of the investigation, the Perry County Prosecutor’s Office issued a search warrant, and Detective Stinson arrested Lehmkuler, who is detained without bond.
