James Albert Baze Jr., 69, of West Baden Springs, passed away September 27, 2023. Formerly of Petersburg. He was born October 7, 1953 to James and Margaret (Hightower) Baze Sr. in Indianapolis, IN. Jim worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation for many years. He attended the Spring Valley Wesleyan Church in French Lick. Jim was a talented musician and loved playing music for people. He was a member of Locomotion and a variety of other bands. His greatest accomplishment of his music career was the Just Plain Country band with DK Brewster that opened for George Jones during the No Show Jones Tour.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Michele (David) Summers of Louisville, KY and his cat, Velcro. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry E. Knight; and a sister, Joann Pardue.
Services for Jim will take place at 2 PM EST on Saturday, October 7, at Harris Funeral Home with visitation from 10 AM EST until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Stout will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
