Murder Suspect Arrested in Southern Indiana

Johnathan Kelly, the man at the center of a Lawrence County, Illinois, manhunt, has been apprehended in southern Indiana. Working in coordination with the US Marshal Task Force and Indiana State Police, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office successfully arrested Kelly, who faces charges including murder, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The allegations stem from an incident on August 13 in Allendale, South Carolina, where officers responded to a shots-fired call and discovered Ronnie Crawford deceased with a gunshot wound. Kelly is the primary suspect in this case. The search for Kelly initially began in Lawrence County, Illinois, after a traffic stop involving Evan Cave, who allegedly fled the scene with Kelly. Cave was apprehended, but Kelly managed to escape. On Friday, authorities received information that Kelly was located at a residence on Pollack Avenue in Evansville. Acting swiftly, the US Marshals and the Evansville SWAT team arrested him without further incident.
