Fern Leona Harder, 87, of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Daviess County Hospital, Washington.
Born September 20, 1936, in Shoals, she was the daughter of James and Rachel (Borders) Harbin.
Fern married Paul Edward Harder on December 21, 1957, and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.
She was a graduate of Shoals High School with the class of 1954.
Fern worked at RCA in Bloomington prior to starting her family, then she was a homemaker. After her kids were grown, she worked at Alco Dime Store and JayC in Shoals.
She was a member of the Shoals Christian Church. Fern enjoyed her trips with her husband, Paul.
Surviving are her children, David Harder, Kevin (Joni) Harder, and Brian (Teresa) Harder; grandchildren, Carl (Tiffany) Harder, John (Aimee) Harder, Rachel (Vincent) Azzara, Nicole (Dylan) Erwin, and Elijah (Joni) Howard; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Paul Harder, Eliza Azzara, and Della Erwin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; infant son, Paul Allen; and siblings, James Leland Harbin, Dorothy Louise Kern, Thelma Peters, Bernice Leatherman, Jane Boger, Jeraldine Norris, and Harold Harbin.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care. Burial will be Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the service hour on Tuesday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
