A woman who was let off the hook in the death of a child last year has been arrested for neglect again in Evansville.
You may remember Allison Smithler, who was arrested and charged in the death of Kamari Opperman last February.
Kamari, who was 3, died when he got his hands on a fentenyl pill and swallowed it while in Smithler’s care. Murder and neglect charges were dismissed in that case, though.
Now, she’s been arrested again after being found passed out in a car with a child in the car with her.
She’s charged with neglect, DWI, and threatening police officers as they were arresting her.
