The Greene County Humane Society (GCHS) is excited to kick off a fundraising campaign aimed at constructing a modern and innovative animal shelter facility. GCHS has introduced two fundraising initiatives: an online auction and the sale of calendars featuring Linton Police and Fire Department first responders alongside shelter pets. The fundraising goal for the new facility is set at $2,500,000. This comprehensive amount will cover essential elements such as state-of-the-art stainless steel kennels and accessories, as well as durable materials and flooring designed for long-term use. The Humane Society, currently operating from a facility that will mark its 35th anniversary this fall, is strategically planning for a new structure that will stand the test of time—built to last at least 40 years without requiring significant modifications or renovations.
