The arrest occurred during a traffic stop conducted by an officer from the Jasper Police Department at Hucks on Hoffman Road. Upon identifying Shartzer, it was revealed that he was driving as a habitual traffic violator. A K9 unit from the Jasper Police Department indicated on the vehicle, leading to the discovery of marijuana, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia. Paul Shartzer was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center, facing multiple charges related to the incident.
