Imogene Ash

Imogene Ash was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother during her incredible 98 1/2 years. Imogene passed away peacefully at Daviess Community Hospital on March 22nd, 2024, at 11:58am. She was born on May 30th,1925. Imogene was well known for her kindness and her enduring love for her family.
Throughout her life, Imogene dedicated herself to many roles. During World War II, Imogene supported the war effort by working at Crane Base. Imogene later worked in the housekeeping department at Daviess Community Hospital. Imogene’s favorite role was that of the homemaker. Her famous homemade noodles were well loved by her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Imogene was a faithful and involved member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where her compassionate smile and sweet hugs made everyone feel loved.
Imogene was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Washington Chapter 210.
Through the years, Imogene enjoyed camping and boating at the Washington Boat Club and family vacations to the Smoky Mountains and North Carolina. The last six years she enjoyed being home at the Legends Village with her very special friends and wonderful caregivers.
Imogene especially adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She made sure every birthday and holiday was special for each of her loved ones, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
Imogene is survived by her children, Stephen (Bunny) Ash of Washington, Indiana and Michael (Jean) Ash of Washington, North Carolina
Grandchildren, Shelley (Jim) Brinson, Michelle (Chris) Ash, Mark Ash, Stephanie (Stacy) McClure, Misty (David) Bell and Sandy (Matt) Clarke
Great-Grandchildren, Ashley (Kasey) Igleheart, Andrew (Hannah) Boyd, Madi McClure, Lauren Brinson, Molly McClure, Sammi Clarke, Lila Claire Bell, and Asher Bell
Great-Great-Grandchildren, Elle Igleheart, Ava Igleheart, Bentley Igleheart, Emma Boyd, Lane Boyd, and two new arrivals coming in 2024
And special friend, Connie Burkhardt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ash, her parents, Seymour and Mabel Dedrick, her brother, James Dedrick, and an infant sister.
Visitation for Imogene will be Saturday, March 30th, 2024, from 10:00am – 1:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State Street Washington, IN 47501. Following the visitation, funeral services will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Tom Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
