scholarships

Daviess County students now have the opportunity to apply for $5,000 work-based learning scholarships, thanks to new initiatives from state lawmakers. State Representatives Shane Lindauer and Bruce Borders are encouraging high school students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades at state-accredited public or private schools to apply for Career Scholarship Accounts. These scholarships support students pursuing apprenticeships, applied learning experiences, work-based learning, and credential attainment. Approximately 2,000 spots are available for the 2024–2025 school year, and applications are open until the Oct. 1 deadline. Approved students will receive $5,000 over four disbursements, which can be used for various qualified expenses, including class expenses for apprenticeships and internships, postsecondary education and training, equipment, certification and credentialing examinations, career coaching, a driver’s license, and transportation. A wide range of courses and classes are eligible for these scholarships, covering subjects like accounting, carpentry, cybersecurity, information technology, software development, and veterinary science. Interested students can find more information and apply for Career Scholarship Accounts before the Oct. 1 deadline at in.gov/tos/csa.
