The Daviess County Council reviewed tax abatement reports from several county businesses, appropriated incoming grant funds, and approved several fund transfers at its Wednesday meeting.
The Council reviewed annual compliance reports from businesses that have received tax abatement from the county. Council members tabled consideration of the CF-1 report from Daviess-Martin RTC for more information. All other reports were discussed and approved.
County Clerk Lauren Milton asked the Council to approve an application for an election grant. Milton told the Council that the grant funds would be used to increase public awareness of the vote centers and purchase additional equipment for the upcoming general election.
The Council also approved the clerk’s request for an additional appropriation of $10,000 to cover the expenses of scanning documents to make them computer-accessible.
The Council approved the allocation of funds received by the Health Department from the Indiana Department of Health and the CDC. The county received a $99,000 grant to help improve immunization levels in the county. Health Department administrator Kellie Streeter told the Council that Daviess County received the grant because it has one of the lowest immunization levels in the state.
The Council also approved several transfers within the Corrections Department budget. The Council tabled a transfer request from the Superior Court for more information.
