Law enforcement agencies across Indiana are intensifying efforts to promote road safety by targeting speeding drivers. From July 10 through July 31, a high-visibility enforcement campaign will take place, focusing on speeding violations. During the campaign, officers will issue citations to drivers exceeding speed limits and educate the public on the consequences of speeding and aggressive driving. National data indicate that young male drivers are the most common demographic in speeding-related crashes. The ICJI urges parents to discuss the dangers of speeding with their teens.
Drivers encountering speeding or tailgating vehicles should safely move aside to allow them to pass. If a driver feels harassed or followed, they are encouraged to contact the police.
