Janice Lee (Burris) Harner

Janice Lee (Burris) Harner, 89, passed away at Gentlecare of Vincennes on July 7, 2024. She was born in Washington, January 10, 1935, to Earl and Agnes (Williams) Burris. On September 20, 1952, she married Joseph Harner and together they created a loving home for themselves and their children until his passing in July 2013.
Janice was a graduate of Washington High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, working puzzles and playing cards – especially Solitaire. She was of the Catholic faith.
Those who now mourn Janices’s passing include her children: Debbie Cardwell of Frankfort, Kentucky and Stephen (Charlene Chambers) Harner of Vincennes. Janice was blessed with five grandchildren: Carrie (Fred) Thompson; Marcia (John) McLaughlin; Gary Cardwell; Kimberly (Elizabeth) Doll; and Kristina James. Additionally, she leaves thirty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Don Burris in Minnesota and Mary Mundy in California.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Agnes Burris; husband, Joseph Harner; and infant son, Alan Harner.
Visitation for Janice Harner will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.
Funeral services for Janice Harner will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 1:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Father Paul Ferguson will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
