A prominent local doctor tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident in Harrison County yesterday. According to State Police reports, around 2:30 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-64, five miles west of Corydon. Upon arrival, officers found that a Tesla T3 had collided with a semi-tractor trailer from behind. The driver of the Tesla, 50-year-old Dr. Suresh Kumar Lohano from Washington, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was uninjured. The semi had experienced mechanical trouble, causing the driver to pull over on the left side of the road due to traffic preventing him from moving to the right shoulder. Dr. Lohano was unable to avoid the collision. The accident led to a four-hour road closure for cleanup, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Indiana State Police Sellersburg Post’s crash reconstruction and motor carrier enforcement officers are handling the investigation, with assistance from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. The Harrison County Coroner’s Office has notified Dr. Lohano’s family.
