Washington Community Schools is excited to introduce new leadership for the 2024–2025 school year. The School Board has approved Kristen Murphy as the new principal of Washington Primary, Rhiannon Fry for Washington Upper Elementary, and Jay Wildman, who will serve as principal at Washington Veale Elementary and assistant principal at Washington Intermediate; Caleb Cherry remains principal at Washington Intermediate.
Kristen Murphy, a team member at Washington Primary since 2016, has held various roles, including 6th-grade teacher, data coach, and dean of students. She holds a bachelor’s degree from USI and a master’s and MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Rhiannon Fry, starting her 14th year with Washington Community Schools, has experience as a life skills teacher and dean of students. She earned her bachelor’s degree from VU and her master’s and MBA from IU’s Kelley School of Business.
Jay Wildman brings 27 years of experience, including 18 years as a principal. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland City University and a master’s from Indiana Wesleyan University.
