Mary Rose Ringwald, 71, of Jasper, Indiana, formerly of Loogootee, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at her home.
She was born June 17, 1953 in Washington, Indiana to the late Thomas Joseph and Rose Eileen (Donnelly) Nolan.
Mary married Joseph Ringwald on November 6, 1976 and he preceded her in death.
She graduated from Indiana State University in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education with a minor in Library Science. Mary worked for various libraries before working full time for the Loogootee Public Library. She loved her job and retired as the Director. After retirement, she volunteered at different libraries in Dubois County.
Mary was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. Mary loved genealogy, history, and watching hockey.
She was preceded in death her husband, Joe Ringwald, who passed away on November 1st, 2013; her parents, Thomas and Rose Nolan, granddaughter, Kelly Fleckenstein.
Mary is survived by her children, Katie Fleckenstein of Indianapolis, Erin (Ian) Doyle of Jasper, Tommy Ringwald of Huntingburg, Sarah (Steven) Burch of Westfield and Simon Ringwald of Jasper; grandchildren, Zach (Michelle) Fleckenstein, Emily Fleckenstein (fiancé, Danny Humfleet), Ally (Geoffrey) Bright, Kyle Fleckenstein, Sophie, and Elle Burch; great-grandchildren, Lily, Ellie, and Kathryn Fleckenstein; siblings, Rachel (Dixon) Rich of New Hudson, Michigan, Pamela Nolan of Vincennes, and Kathleen (Ron) Nicholson of Lawrenceburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 4th, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Martin County Humane Society, Dubois County Humane Society, or the Corning Heritage Center.
